dc.description There is a current desire by Korean students at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) for using available computer systems for editing and printing the Korean character set (Hangul) for official reports and correspondence. Handwritten texts are not acceptable alternatives. There is an additional need to retrofit high performance western-produced computers for use by Koreans. This study attempts to attack both problems through the development of a Korean word processor on a U.S. computer, the Silicon Graphics, Inc. IRIS workstation, and an output capability on a U.S. produced laser printer, the QMS-1200.
