In the past there has been limited work carried out over the Cattewater wreck site since the find in 1973. This project was undertaken to provide an authoritative resource containing disparate data and interpretations of the Cattewater Wreck, which was successful achieved. Information and data was brought together through strong contacts within the hydrographic and archaeological community. Additionally, primary data was collected from the site which consisted of side scan sonar and magnetometer data. Side scan sonar provided an up to date image of the seabed whilst the magnetometer data gave the first insights into the location of sub-bottom ferrous targets. Interesting targets were resolved from different primary and secondary geophysical datasets that had been collected. Comparing the interrelationship of the datasets through GIS indicates that the Cattewater wreck is not were the Admiralty Chart states. All the evidence suggests to a new wreck site location which has been defined in this project. To conclude, the development of future management and control of the wreck site have been suggested.
