dc.description |
Constructed using the MEDLINE Ovid platform, this search strategy contains 24 separate search lines and incorporates a combination of Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) from the National Library of Medicine, uncontrolled vocabulary/keywords in the Text Word (.tw) field, and Boolean operators to maximise sensitivity and recall. The Text Word in the MEDLINE Ovid field includes both the Title (.ti) and Abstract (.ab) fields. The search consist of acute ischaemic stroke and thrombolysis subject searches (lines 1-4 and 5-12) which have been linked to the Cochrane Highly Sensitive Search Strategy (CHSSS) for identifying randomised trials (RCTs) in MEDLINE: sensitivity maximising version (2008 revision) (lines 13-21), as referenced in the Boxes 3.c and 3.d in the Technical Supplement to Chapter 4: Searching for and selecting studies in the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions Version 6.1.0 (updated September 2019) (Lefebvre 2019).
The MEDLINE Ovid search strategy used for the previous iteration of the review has also been included. It was last run on 1 November 2013 has been superseded and revised to account for newly identified relevant Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) headings and keywords.
