This CORONA panchromatic satellite image covers an area extending from St Clears/Sanclêr to Sennybridge, Wales. The ground resolution is between 2 to 3 metres. The dataset also includes a screenshot showing image footprint, which corresponds to the full extent of the captured images. There are four image segments associated with this footprint (DS1104-1043DF002_2a, DS1104-1043DF002_2b, DS1104-1043DF002_2c and DS1104-1043DF002_2d). The image files ending in '1a' and ‘1b’ have not been processed as there is 90 percent cloud cover associated with these images. This image (DS1104-1043DF002_2d) has about 10 percent cloud cover. Please note that the spatial accuracy is not reliable and may need to be geo-referenced again, though this was done to situate the image over the corresponding ground area. Users of this image will be able to identify areas using built environments and features of the physical landscape. This image was cropped to remove scanned negative border, and then geo-referenced in ArcGIS 9.3 using vector data from Digimap OpenStream.
This CORONA satellite image was made available from the U.S. Geological Survey. Aerial or Satellite Imagery. This dataset was first accessioned in the EDINA ShareGeo Open repository on 2011-01-13 and migrated to Edinburgh DataShare on 2017-02-21.
