Dr. Peter J. Denning is a Distinguished Professor at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California, where he chairs the Computer Science Department. He was President of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the leading professional society for computing, from 1980-82 and is a Fellow of ACM.
